Free to use until October 31, 2026.
One clean list for your running apps, another for the windows of the app you’re on. This is the real thing, ahead of release — and we’d like to hear what breaks.
Version 2026.1.0-beta.3, released 31 August 2026 · macOS 13 or later
It expires. The beta runs through October 31, 2026, or until about two weeks after the release version ships, whichever comes first. It warns you daily during the final week, then stops and points you at the release version.
You are never left unable to switch apps. While CmdTab runs it turns the built‑in macOS switcher off, so that Cmd‑Tab reaches CmdTab instead. When the beta ends it puts the system switcher back exactly as it found it — your Mac’s own Cmd‑Tab returns the moment CmdTab stops.
It needs Accessibility permission. macOS requires it of any app that takes over Cmd‑Tab or raises another app’s windows. CmdTab asks once on first run and checks the permission really arrived before taking over your keys. It does not need Screen Recording.
It updates itself. Newer betas arrive through the built-in updater, installed only with your OK. The beta never installs the paid release on its own.
Tell us what you find. [email protected] — include your macOS version and, if switching misbehaved, which app you were in.
